For more than five decades, Stabilis Treatment Centre has been a place of hope for individuals and families affected by substance dependency. Founded in 1962 and rooted in Christian values, we are committed to walking alongside people on their journey of recovery – helping them rebuild health, purpose, and connection.
We recognise that addiction is never an individual struggle alone. Families and loved ones are deeply impacted, and they too need guidance, understanding, and healing. That’s why our care extends beyond the patient – offering families the tools and support they need to stand together in recovery.
Stabilis is one of South Africa’s few treatment centres equipped to provide truly multi-dimensional care. Our professional team addresses both substance dependency and co-occurring psychiatric conditions, ensuring comprehensive, compassionate treatment for every person who enters our doors.

Our Approach
At Stabilis Treatment Centre, we follow a holistic, person-centred approach that recognises the individuality of each patient. Our multidisciplinary team ,including medical, psychological, and occupational specialists , works collaboratively to ensure comprehensive care.
We integrate evidence-based therapeutic modalities tailored to each patient’s preferences, history, and presenting concerns. Our aim is to promote patient autonomy, respect, and dignity throughout treatment.
Family involvement is central to recovery, and our programmes encourage the inclusion of family systems through therapy and education.
Complementary therapies such as art therapy, occupational therapy, horticultural therapy, and team-building activities (e.g., low rope/obstacle challenges) support emotional, physical, and psychological healing.
Our Facilities
Stabilis is housed in a purpose-built rehabilitation centre designed to provide a safe, supportive, and healing environment. Located in the quiet Moot area of Pretoria, the facility includes dedicated spaces for medical treatment, therapy, group sessions, and spiritual care, alongside comfortable living areas and tranquil outdoor spaces.
